REALOGIS leases Kassel location to DB Schenker
Kassel, 6 February 2024 – Realogis – Germany’s leading consulting firm for industrial, logistics and commercial properties – has successfully advised DB Schenker on growing its branch at the top logistics location of Kassel. The logistics service provider has signed a lease for 15,400 m² of warehouse and office space at Gobietstrasse 8. The lessor is Mileway, Europe’s leading property company for last-mile logistics.
“With this short-term move, we will increase the capacity of our branch in Kassel to around 65,000 m² in total,” says Jens Huppach, Head of Contract Logistics Kassel at DB Schenker. The Kassel location is connected to DB Schenker’s national and global logistics network and performs individual logistics solutions as well as conventional transport and forwarding services.
“We are delighted to continue developing our relationship with DB Schenker. DB Schenker is already a customer in Germany as well as the UK, the Netherlands and Spain, which underscores our ability to assist businesses in their growth on multiple markets. This property will provide them with the room they need to expand their activities in Kassel, a key transport location for logistics,” says Thomas ten Bokum, Chief Real Estate Officer at Mileway.
The property is one of the few available spaces in Kassel. “The Kassel logistics property location is a very tight market with little availability. We have ensured the good utilisation of the property with an almost seamless transition,” says Marius Paulig, Head of North Germany at Realogis Immobilien Deutschland GmbH.
The functional property has excellent connections to the national transport network (A7, A44 and A49 highways plus the Wilhelmshöhe ICE station). It combines natural light thanks to domed skylights with state-of-the-art LED lighting, while a new heating system installed in 2020/2021 allows the use of an air-source heat pump.
