REALOGIS Group delivers strong results in 2022 and is positioned for sustainable growth

Realogis again accounted for a large proportion of take-up in Germany in 2022. Established in 2005 and now in its 18th year, the pioneer brokered take-up of 1.251 million m² with retail, e-commerce and manufacturing companies and logistics and shipping specialists in this asset class across its eight branches in Germany (2021: 1.3 million m², -4%).
“In 2022, we exceeded our absolute five-year average of 1.02 million m² by a substantial 22.3%. Once again, our specialists acted in line with the Group’s DNA, surpassing themselves with their advisory and brokerage activities and successfully harnessing the market conditions for the Group’s benefit,” says Umut Ertan, founder and partner of SCHWEIZER KAPITAL GROUP and majority shareholder of the Realogis Group.
The German market as a whole has expanded by 19.1% since 2018, from 7 million m² to the current figure of 8.4 million m². “During this time, Realogis has increased its annual take-up by an impressive 70%, from 736,000 m² to 1.251 million m². Realogis’ market share has risen by 42.7% to 14.9% in the same period,” Umut Ertan continues.
Given that not all new leases are brokered by estate agents – a conservative estimate suggests that estate agents are involved in 75% of deals** – this means the Realogis Group accounts for around 20% of the industrial, warehousing and logistics space let by property consultants in 2022. In other words, Realogis is responsible for one in every five square metres let – a level it has maintained since 2020. Compared with the figure of 13.9% in 2018, this corresponds to growth of 42.7% or 5.9 percentage points in the last five years.
“There is a sustained high level of demand for suitable space for safeguarding and controlling the transportation, storage, provision, procurement and distribution of goods and energy in Germany with its growing population,” reports Umut Ertan. “We can see that many companies are investing in functional supply chains, and hence in sustainable investments, technology and diversification in new and existing logistics properties. Realogis helps them to realise the resulting long-term growth opportunities with transparency and market penetration.”
With its four core competencies, the Realogis Group covers the entire property cycle from location analysis and the optimisation of expansion goals to the disposal of assets no longer required for operations. This includes arranging highly creditworthy tenants for new and existing properties, assisting investors with property investments and greenfield/brownfield project development, outstanding service for locating or selling sites, and the development and implementation of holistic property strategies.
While other property consulting companies are currently laying off employees like they did in previous times of turbulence, such as the pandemic and the financial market crisis, the Realogis Group is expanding its workforce and continuously training junior staff in property consulting and office management.
In the area of environmental, social and governance, Realogis has integrated an ESG program into its employees’ everyday working lives in cooperation with KARMAPOINT and made it available online. This represents another systematic step towards sustainability at Realogis.
