Realogis brokers another lease in a former Karstadt property
With a second lease signed within a short period of time, Realogis secures a large-scale letting in a former Karstadt property on Werner-Siemens-Str. 63 in Hamburg-Billbrook. In a deal advised and brokered by the leading consulting firm for letting logistics properties, industrial properties and business parks in Germany, the owner-operated shipping company “www.shipments.de Wördemann GmbH” decided in favour of this location. The e-commerce company Flaschenpost has been based in the multi-tenant property since the second half of 2018.
The lessor of the logistics facility, which is conveniently located with a good connection to the A1 and B5 in the direction of the city centre, is an institutional investor.
“With approx. 4,000 sqm of warehouse space and 2,000 sqm mezzanine space, we are increasing our capacity for short- and longer-term goods storage with access to intermodal freight transport,” said Jörg Wördemann, Managing Director of www.shipments.de Wördemann GmbH.
Before moving in, the company will widen the hall doors for timber handling and attach a mobile ramp for ground-level access to the hall.
“Getting another lease signed within a short period of time shows that well-maintained and upgraded warehouse properties from the 1960s that are strategically well-located in terms of transport are in very high demand in Hamburg,” commented Jörg Lojewski, Managing Director of Realogis Immobilien Hamburg GmbH.
www.shipments.de Wördemann GmbH was founded in 2000. Initially, the company concentrated primarily on the logistics of forest products. Over the course of various supplements to the product portfolio, the focus of the company has now changed to material recycling of plastics, scrap metal and waste paper.
